      No he probably changed it and/or possibly renamed the real
administrator account leaving you with another user account named
administrator. If it had expired you would have been prompted to change it
at logon by first entering current password. If another user has an account
in the administrators group then they might be able to log onto the server.
This ex administrator could have done a lot of harm and locked everyone out
by changing security policies, passwords, deleting/disabling accounts, etc.
There are ways to work around this - the administrator account can be
cracked fairly easily to those with physical access to a computer. Don't be
surprised though if he modified security policy to prevent local log on. See
the link keeping in mind that these solutions are not for domain
