I have a small wireless network which I'd like to seperate from my wired
network for security but still have it behind my firewall. I'm using 802.1X
so that clients have to authenticate with certificate before the gain access
to the network but I don't necessarily want everyone that authenticates to
have straight access to the net etc (currently the firewall is the gateway).
I haven't done anything like this before which is why I'm posting, but would
it be possible to put the wireless network clients (and access point ?)
onto a different subnet and then use routing with the Win2k Server as a
gateway for wireless clients to seperate it fom the wired network. At the
minute I'm running a subnet of 255.255.255.0 for all clients.
Would I use RRAS to do this ? Sorry for the vagueiness of the question but
I'm not sure if what I'm attempting to do is a practical solution or if I'm
completely off the mark. I also want to conintue using RRAS and IAS for
remote Dial-Up and VPN, will these needs cause problems with each other ?
Thanks for any help,
Stuart.
