I have Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 2. A while
ago I tried to rename my administrator account. But, I
noticed after I renamed the account that I had lost my
administrative privileges. So, I changed it back but it
seems that that did not fix the problem. I have not been
able to install anything using the Windows installer since
then and I can't access certain places under Aministative
Tools such as the Local Policies under Local Security
Policy. Is there some way to reset everything back to the
original policy settings? I appreciate very much any help
you can provide. Thanks.
