This is one of the problems you will run into using Win 2k and "legacy"
apps. Win 2k's security is tightened down considerably more that Win NT 4.0.
You might try putting the user's domain account into the local power user's
group, or even in the local administrator's group. Either one is better than
putting them in the domain admin group.
You could also test the compatws.inf security template that "relaxes" Win
2k's security to more closely match Win NT 4.0's security.
See:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;269259
I would test this on one computer and see if after applying the template, if
you still have problems with your legacy apps before using group policy to
apply it to everyone.
