remove antivirus after windows upgrade from 98 to 2000 prof

plz help me.....i upgrded my windows 98 to windows
2000.....before this i had mcafee virus scan installed on
my pc but after this upgrade m mcafee didn't work anymore
and i couldn't even uninstall it..........tell me how i
can remove this software now.........
the problem is from the upgrade process.......
help me plz....
