Windows 2000 updates

Had the exact same problem! Searched Microsoft for the
security bulletin for each fix, then browsed the bulletin
and found the specific update files, downloaded them to my
desktop, created a temp directory, ran the updates,
unpacked them to the temp directory, and they both
installed correctly. I did have to recreate the temp
directory after running the first update, because the the
first temp directory I created disappeared when I rebooted.
