Instant Messenger BLOCK

Is there a way to block the port that Windows Instant
Messenger uses?? I"m getting spammed to death with this
stupid feature throughout our network. Since the network
is fed through a proxy server, if I can disable the port
on the proxy server, it should stop the instant messenger
advertisements on the workstations.

Please - if you can help - let me know something.
