access denied for HDD-0

I had to reinstall Win2000 and did a clean install. Since
then i cannot reach my primary harddisk (C:). My D-disk
can be reached without problem.
Searching in my settings i discovered that there is no
administrator account.
this is confirmed when i went to windows update: this was
not possible because i had no adminstrator rights,
allthough i was logged in as administrator.
how to resolve this nasty problem?
(all diagnostic programs for disks say that the hard disk
is healthy)
