Dear Stan,
If you enable "file sharing", does the problem still exist? I don't think
"file sharing" will affect performance monitor. How do you disable "file
sharing"?
In order to remotely monitor a computer using perfermance monitor, your
account needs to have administrative privilege on the target computer.
For example, you can add your domain user account to the local
Administrators group on the target computer.
