William,
You might look at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/windowsupdate/sus/default.asp
as it may simplify this process in the long run, you will however need to
be familiar with the hotfixes as they come out, there is no set method for
determining what you are looking at doing as the hotfixes are related to
many different Microsoft Products. Fixes should be cumlative so in the end
the date of the fix would be the most telling. The Windows Update site is
the easiest method for determining this, but an administrator should still
stay on top of each fix, the changes it makes and the effect it will have
on your configuration.
