Well this didn't end well. RH8 doesn't by default support
ntfs and the only patch that you can get for it is to read
a ntfs volume. Next problem was the recovery console. I
will get a c: prompt but no commands work. so i cant change
any files from there. Finally i decided to rerun the
windows emergency repair disk. The disk found several
changed files including the ones related to my keyboard and
mouse that you had listed. So I had it replace just these
files. after that i restart and guess what? Windows is
CORRUPTED. It doesnt even attempt to boot and cant even
find ntldr. The windows CD on next basically says "windows
is corrupt and cannot be repaired". The only thing i can
do at this step is burn all my files to a cd from linux and
reinstall windows (some 60GB's of files). Maybe i should
just get rid of windows all together. linux never has any
of these problems.
