Ok I'm having a weird problem that i've never seen before.
I have a duel-boot between windows 2000 pro and red hat
linux 8. If i select windows it will boot up like normal
and give me the message telling me to press ctrl+alt+del to
login. But neither my mouse or keyboard does anything at
this point. I usually use a logitech wireless keyboard and
mouse which i have never had a problem with. The batteries
are fine. So I plugged in a ps/2 style keyboard and mouse
to see if that worked but i just got the same response. I
have tried using safe-mode, the emergency repair disk, and
the windows setup boot disk. none of these things worked.
I kind of feel like the OS is freezing right when the
login prompt apprears. The only response i get is when i
press the power button on the tower which gives me a quick
"shutting down" dialog right on top of the login screen.
if i boot to linux there are no problems. wireless and
ps/s keyboards both work fine. Any suggestions?
btw I am able to press F8 to get the windows boot menu and
after i select a option no further input is allowed.
