Hi:
Today I received this worm in an email. Before I knew what
it was (I have no anti-virus software) I set about getting
rid of it... eventually found the files in \WINNT\SYSTEM32
and, thinking I was on the right trail, managed to get rid
of them all (some using delete under "My computer" and
some from within a command window).
However the end result is that while my machine still
runs, I can open virtually no application except Interner
Explorer and My Computer - by whatever path I try... the
error message I get is (an example):
"Cannot find the file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office\EXCEL.EXE' (or one of its components).
Please make sure the path and filename are correct and
that all required libraries are available.
This happens despite the fact that all the files are there!
Appreciate any suggestions - thanks, John W.
PS. My email programs don't work!
