Hi,

This behavior can occur when the user account does not have the user right
"Access this computer from network".

Please click Start->Run, type gpedit.msc and press Enter. Set the user
right.

Hi,
After renamed the files, still got the same messages.
I found that subfolders under security are gone.
I copied these folders from other win2k pc, and I could opened the local
security policy.

Problem number two: I shared the drive on this PC, but the drive couldnot be
mapped from other PC.
message is:
"The map network drive couldnot be created because the following error has
occured:
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at
this computer."

Previously I could map this drive without any error. (because of the
corrupted local security database?)

Is there any proper way to restore these folders ? Can I just copy these
folders from other win2k pc as just like I did?

Please help.
TIA

Andi
