The RIS client correctly connects to the RIS server, and
presents the login screen. After supplying
userid/password/domain etc the following message appears:
Logon Error
The system cannot validate your username, password or
domain name.....
No error codes are displayed.
I've run netdiag.exe /v on all servers concerned (4
domain controllers and RIS server) and cannot see the any
problems. I've sent the logs as a reply to your separate
email.
Colleagues believe the problem is that the RIS server is
not passing authentication onwards to the DCs when the
credentials are received from the RIS client. Is this a
possibility, and could it be because of the Microsoft
Secure baseline template that is applied to the OU
containing the RIS server.
Thanks for your help,
Jim Watts
