Norton AntiVirus Disabled after Security Patches

I downloaded recommended MS Security Upgrades Q329115 for
WinME and Q329414 MDAC2.5 with Cumulative Patch for
Internet Expl.6 Q328970. The system will no longer
recognize NAV database on boot-up, will not recognize
virus definitions, will not recognize owner registration,
will not allow autoprotection, etc.,etc,etc.
I removed and re-installed NAV. No luck. The MS support
for the security patches indicated no method of removal,
so I dumped the Millenium Up-grade and reinstalled, along
with reinstalling all of Norton's Sytems Works, in it's
entirety. I'll probably contact Norton support, next, but
thought someone else might have experienced the same
recent bug.
