Hi,
I hope that this is the correct newsgroup for this question.
My question is about remote admin of an Exchange 2000 server from a Windows
XP desktop. I would like the XP desktop user to be able to administer the
users, contacts and DLs in the GAL on the Exchange server, but not anything
else.
Our network has a Windows 2K domain controller using AD. I have added this
user to the Account Operators in the AD. I have enabled remote access to the
Exchange Server.
I have installed the Windows .Net Server Administration Tools Pack on the
user's XP desktop and set up the remote desktop tool. When that user tries
to connect to the Exchange server via the remote desktop they receive the
message "You do not have access to this session".
I have configured this user to allow remote control. I checked the "enable
remote control" box on the Remote Control tab on the user's properties form.
I left the "require user's permission" box unchecked and the Level Control
at "View the user's session"
I have tried to add the user on the local exchange server but there is no
Account Operators group on this server only in the AD. It seems that I am
missing something in the user permissions somewhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, Neal...
