Thanks a lot Ken for the link and the info.
It says in there that one of the conditions is to have NetBIOS enabled for
the internet connection. I don't see a NetBIOS mentioned anywhere when I
look at my DUN connection properties.
But I have a service running called "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service". Is that
what they mean?
I have a single PC, connected via ADSL modem to the internet. Do I need
this NetBIOS service? Can I safely stop it? Why do I get "WMI: Critical
Error" message when I click on the "Dependencies" tab of any service?
Sorry for confusing it with MSN Messenger, but you must admit some people at
MS don't seem to have a lot of imagination for finding names :)
Oh, BTW, I discovered my firewall was disabled when that popup came up
today. I remember having done so to test something a few days ago, and
forgot to re-enable it. But I don't think it was disabled the 3 other times
I saw this popup.
