I was running XP on my system and downloading a file
from Limewire, when all of a sudden my beloved machine
gets the horrid blue screen of death. I restart only to
find out that my boot volume is missing. go figure! I try
to reboot a few more times. I even removed cacheing and
goasting just as i was told bto by the blue screen.
needless to say nothing worked. I removed the hard drive
that contained XP and all of my wonderful (very important)
files. I loaded in another drive and installed 2000 on it.
I am now trying to remove the "My Documents" folder from
my old account. being the security freek that I think I
am, all of my files are marked private on the XP drive,
and therefore, I have no access to them from the 2000
drive. Finaly my question, Is there a way to reverse the
security settings on the XP drive from the 2000 drive? OR,
is there a way to fix the XP boot volume problem? I don't
care what I have to do as long as I don't loose the files
on the XP drive. Any help at all would be greatly
appreciated.
