Question
Every time I connect to the internet and pull mail into
Outlook Express, a large batch of .dbx files is generated
in my local settings directory, reflecting ALL local
folders in Outlook Express.
At the same time, outgoing traffic is registered in
firewall log (which I have now blocked) directed to a
destination host with IP address 255.255.255.255 which is
NOT a valid IP. Backtracing the Packet log of this IP
address shows code with words that match an important
directory in my machine. Can anyone please tell me if this
is normal or if there a possibility that a trojan or virus
is causing this to happen. I have the latest Norton Anti-
Virus software installed with latest updates dated
30/10/02 but it does not detect anything.
P.S. Operating System is Windows 2000 Professional
Thanks
Paul S
