I read on this one lately, while trying to find the answer
to my own question. Encryption authentication can not be
handled if the remote machine is accessed by TCP/IP or
other net protocol. The machines will have to be
connected by a type of LAN. It had something to do with
the number of packets needed to authenticate the security
keys of both machines and the difficulty in sending each
packet of the file. I think that it said that each packet
of the encrypted file would have to go through that
process to insure authenticity and still have to go
through the standard error checking as well. Too machine
intensive for whatever reason.
