password suddenly required

Similar problem as posted by Donald Atkins sent 10-31-02.
When starting windows 2000 I am informed that my password
will expire in 3 days. This started several days ago.
After ignoring message for several minutes it will go away
and my desk top finally appears.
Any suggestions as to how to prevent this message from
re-occurring?
