You gave me some great things to think about. My problem
was that DHCP served all my settings. So, even though a
IPCONFIG /ALL showed the correct settings, it made me
rethink about their validity...

What I am getting at is this: the NT domain PDC registered
in AD DNS and WINS may not actually be there (or simply
not resolving).

I COULD ping -a ip or ping -a server1 and the result
worked, so I figured that DNS worked. WINS, however, was
another issue. Using Jim's idea about having the correct
settings did it. I manually entered in the primary WINS as
the AD server IP and the secondary as the NT server. Guess
what? No worky. So I changed it around. With the NT server
as primary, I COULD change the password. Funny, eh? I
think there is a network glitch somewhere, but at least I
know a workaround to help pinpoint where the real problem
is.

Thanks!!
