Look at your speakers [assuming you have external speakers]. If there are
no lights on them, inspect the power cord from the speakers to the
electrical source. [or, listen to the speakers and if there is no sound at
all from them including static or hum, follow the power cord as described.]
Otherwise, check the sound cable from the speakers to your PC.
There are other things it could be, but these are the most common two
problems.
