Account getting locked out

Hello,
I have a remote user who can log on to our network through
VPN, but his account gets locked out when he tries to open
Outlook. Once I unlock his account, then he is able to
connect without a problem. But this occurs everytime he
tries to logon to Outlook.
He is using Windows 2000 and our network is W2k mixed
mode. We are running Exchange 5.5 with sp3.
I disconnected few of his drives which were mapped to few
of our servers that are no longer on the network , but
that did not help either.
Any clue what is causing this.
