Probably a remote control bot or trojan. What I would suggest (Because it's
free) is the trial download of TDS3 from www.diamondcs.com.au and if that
finds nothing the AVG antivirus from www.grisoft.com and don't panic.

There are a few bots on IRC channels which behave like viruses but allow
infected machines to be controlled for use in distributed denial of service
attacks. If that is what this is it's unlikely to have done much damage but
wants removing, and those tools should make that easy. If you use IRC
regularly TDS3 might be a good investment.
