We've got an unbootable W2000 system - The progress bar runs along the
spalsh screen, and when it gets to the end the system reboots.

OK, I've tried what it says in Knowledge Base Article - Q199175 -
which doesn't help much.

I've got the recovery console running, and wanted to rename the 'avg'
directory in "Program Files". But we don't have permission to cd to
"Program Files". I can go anywhere else, but not "Program Files".
The recovery console's DIR listing shows "Program Files" as read-only,
but Attrib says we cannot access it to change that either.

I think we are stuck. Of course, the wretched thing is a Compaq, and
the only recovery option is to wipe the hard disk and re-install to
'factory' condition...

Oh god, why don't people write applications for Linux?

What would _you_ have done?
