I have a win2k VPN client set up for my company lan. It
used to work fine. Now I get an error 797 "can't find
modem..." (the only major event between then and now is a
bout with a virus and cleanup)
I get this error when I'm already on the lan and I can
ping the vpn box (DNS and IP)
I get this error when I'm dialed up from offsite and can
still ping the vpn box
I can make the vpn work if I reinstall the modem drivers
or update windows or use the win2k repair from CD. But it
only works once. When I reboot, I get the same error
again.
Any help for the helpless?
