Hi there,

Windows 2000 uses DNS to locate the domain controllers so
your problem usually indicates a problem with your DNS.

You might want to examine your DNS entries to make sure
that all services are registered correctly. Usually a
reboot of the DC helps because the services will attempt
to register their entries in the DNS (this needs DNS to be
dynamic and allow client updates).
