Hi,
No more details I can add. No standard domain user can run
applications on w2k workstation. Office 97 and Lotus Notes are
examples of the applications that standard users failed to run.
Microsoft technet, article Q248003 deals with the issue but offers no
solution.
The following is the article:

Because of the higher security in Windows 2000, you may not be able to
install or run some programs with the standard User account.
By default, Windows does not let a standard user or guest account run
programs that access the registry. The program's manufacturer is
responsible for issuing the appropriate workaround or patch to allow
the program to function properly. These programs may work properly if
you use a Power User account or an account with higher privileges.

Thanks,
Ameen
