the folder permissions on the existing drive should stay the same,
installing the OS again should affect the install folder ( winnt or windows)
the documents and settings folder and the program files folder. it will not
affect permissions on folders that aren't included in the operating system
installation.

We have one windows 2000 server and we are going to upgrade the server hardware so we should reinstall the server OS. But we have many folders with different security permissions.
