properties of directory

hi,it's a strange problem with win2000.
some directory in my server have
changed so the contents cannot be modified / deleted, but
logging on as the administrator?
Then i show the security properties on the directory i get
the message "you only have permission to view the security
information" .
was it done by hacker?what can i do?
