Most importantly, make sure that you include the Private Key in the
export so that the export format is a PKCS#12 format. The private key
should be protected with a password, and then stored on physical media
separate from the computer, in a secure physical location.

Alternatively, you can do the export by loading the Certificates MMC
console, focused on the Current User. You can export the certificate
from the Current User\Certificates\Personal store.
