Go to google.com and type:
recover administrator password windows 2000
HOWEVER
If your former admin was enough of a jerk that he changed the password
without telling you, he very well may have left some nasty surprises on the
system. Virus? Trojan? Backdoor? Who knows. Better safe than sorry,
format the system and reinstall.
