Whenever I try to carry out an operation which involves picking a user
(e.g., adding a user to an access control list for a file or folder)
Explorer crashes and complains of an access violation. I'm running Windows
2000 SP2 (and SP2 didn't fix it). There is an article on the Microsoft
Knowledge Base (Q287187) about the same symptom, but the hotfix it describes
is supposed to be included in SP2. As it happens, my ObjSel.dll has a
version number (5.0.2195.2957) which is lower than the version specified in
Q287187 (5.0.2195.3296), but a creation date (24 July 2001) which is later
than the Q287187 version (22 February 2001).
I'm confused. Has anyone got any ideas?
