I believe if you permissions for each user on each individual folder and not
put permissions for the users on the root folder, it should dump them in
only the folder with their permissions
root ftp (no FTP user permissions) folder
user1 = user 1 permissions
user2 - user 2 permissions
etc.
works for us.

I want to set up an FTP site as follows. say there is 1 master group of users that will use the site. "FTP users" is the group I want to set it up so when they log in, the go to their Home directory (1 for each user.) but they also have a virtual dir to a common directory for everyone. wht I have now is this. drive root ftp common ftp user user1 user1 user3 ftp other I have a user account (user1) and I create a virtual dir called user1 which points to his dir. In his w2k user profile I put the path to his user1 folder in the home dir. When he logs in he is immediately in the user1 folder. Great right? not quite. Even if I create a virtual dir to the "ftp other" and "ftp common" they don't show up in "ls" or in "dir" of even if ftp done thru browser. Is there a way to do this? What I don't want to do is have user1 even know that there is a user2 or user3. I know I can lok them out but I don't want it to even be there. Any ideas are welcome. I'm not opposed to changing the file layout either. Thanks Post only replies please.
