Ok here's the long boring story...
We are using Windows 2000 and Novell Client 4.83 to dial
into a 3Com dial in box. It's basically a modem pool with
an ethernet connection. We set up different "Location
Profiles" that the user selects from within the Novell
client at login. Each location will either dial a number
using MS Dial-Up networking or use a network card to reach
the server. In Windows 98 once you entered your user ID
and password and clicked OK the Novell client would
automatically dial the MS Dial-Up Networking. It would
dial and login to the 3com box without prompting for a
username or password (which is different for the 3com box
than the Novell ID). Then the Novell client will
automatically find the server and login. With 2000 after
you click OK on the Novell login box, you get a message
saying. "Windows Security does not allow the username and
password values to be read form the phonebook at initial
login. Verify the username and password fields, and hit
continue." The message box has the Novell username and
password in the ID fields along with continue and cancel
buttons. This would be fine except the Username and
Password for the MS Dial-Up Networking is different and
has been saved in the Dial-Up settings. This will confuse
the heck out of my users if I can't make it a one routine
again. Thanks for any help.
