I think that this was the cause of the problem. My boss was logged
in as AD2 on his workstation (as he always is, much to my dismay).
When I finally convinced him to log off, the problem went away.
Don't know if he was more glad that the problem was solved, or
mad that I pointed out that he was the cause.
