i have a strange problem with sql server agent.

if a local user account is used to start the MSSQLSERVER, the agent can be
started fine.

once started, a domain user account, say abc\user can start that service
fine.

however, that domain user can't be set to start the service. the services
will have a window saying "Unable to open MSSQLSERVER for writing on Local
Computer Error5: Access is denied.
that domain user is part of the local Administrators. It is a user with
sysadmin role.

also, this domain user, while is part of the local Administrator, can't
even
delete a user account of local machine. Again, the error is Access is
denied.

what is needed to fix it? thanks.
