Reensure Mixed authentication is set in Server Properties\Security and ensure your clients do not try to connect to your SQL Server server using Windows Authentication. Your bet is to use SQL Authencation.

I have four PCs setup in a workgroup and need for all of them to access a
SQLEXPRESS database that resides on one of the PCs. There are no servers in
the group just PCs. The PC with the database has no problem accessing it,
just the remote PCs. All PCs are in the same workgroup and I can setup
shares and map network drives with no problem.
Using the SQL Studio Management I have set it to use both window and SQL
authentication.
I have also setup the surface area to allow remote connection using TCP/IP
only.
Tuesday I was able to connect when I enabled the guest account and then
added the guest to the Security Logins through SQL Studio Management. The
next day when I wanted to start testing I could not access the database
anymore remotely kept receiving (Login failed for user “. The user is not
associated with a trusted SQL server connection.)
I have double and triple checked settings and have not been able to figure
out why I can not connect to the database again.
