Hi John,
Only the database owner and members of the db_owner role can access/view a
diagram. Here's the quote from the Books Online topic Understanding
Database Diagram Ownership
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186345.aspx. "Though any user
with access to a database can create a diagram once it has been created, the
only users who can see it are the diagram's creator and any member of the
db_owner role."
