1) If your SQL Server will run under a domain and need access to network then you should use a Domain Account as a service account. Local account would not work in the scenario.

1) Looking for some good info on what user should be used for the sqlservice account as well as agent.
Local vs Domain Account
This user will need to be to access Network shares for DTS file loading.
2) We use Samba shares from our Unix system where we dump extract files to be picked up by a Sql load process. Is there any reason why we can't run more than one Load process at a time. If we try and run 2 together we get a collision on making the Samba connection. The second process gets a failed login attempt seeing how the first one is active and has dropped it's connection. These processes are launched from the same BOX.
