Maria,
Could this be the problem?
From the Books Online: If you choose to use a Windows NT account that isnot a member of the local administrator's group for the MSSQLServer service,
users who are not members of the sysadmin fixed server role cannot execute
xp_cmdshell.

Hi, I have installed a msde in a windows 2003 server r2. I need a user
to use de xp_cmdshell on this instance, and i already configure the
proxy account with a domain account that is server admin and sysadmin
sql server, I give access to execute de xp_cmdshell store procedure on
the master database too.
After that I try to execute the xp_cmdshell but it doesn´t works. If i
give sysadmin access to that user It works fine.
Do some body know any issue to configure and can execute xp_cmdshell
without been a sysadmin member in a msde instance??
Thanks a lot for your help.
