Re: Need help w/ SA password

By default I believe with SQL Express Mixed mode authentication is going to
be disabled. SA requires this enabled. You will need to enable this mode and
set a strong password for SA.

I suggest having your systems administrator either assign you local admin
rights temporarily (presuming that the default setup was followed and local
admins are mapped into the sysadmin fixed server role in your SQL Express
installation). Then you may login and make the changes required and go back
to not being a local admin.

Hi,

I had our network guy install VS.NET 2005 and SQL Server 2005 Express on
my
computer. He doesn't remember entering an SA password. I can't log into
SQL
server using SA password as I don't know what it is. I can't change it
either
as my network account does not have admin rights.

Could someone recommend a way for me to get admin access to my local
version
of SQL Server Express?

Thanks,

Sam
