RE: Running into security issues when attempting to deploy a Report Mo

Well that was embarrassing... solution when I used Google Web as apposed to
Google Groups...

Thanks Omaris at developmentnow.com

I needed to go to:
Report Manager
Site Settings;
Configure item-level role definitions
Content Manager
Make sure everything is ticked off. These two were not ticked off:
Manage models
View models

Here is my challenge. I have a Reporting Services Report Model that I have
built with BIDS and I can deploy the solution to every machine just fine…
except for one server.

I thought that it might have been an issue with Service Packs,
but after applying the latest and greatest (SQL 2K5 SP2a), the problem
still persists. I used Google Groups to look at historical entries
and found non with a similar error. I must admit my exposure to VS is
limited as I have just started using it with the CTP version of SQL
2K5. It throws an exception, perhaps I need to throw a tantrum :)

Deploying to http://ClientServer/ReportServer?%2f
Deploying data source 'http://ClientServer/ReportServer/Data Sources/
ClientProject'.
Deploying model 'Health Research2.smdl'.
Exception of type
'Microsoft.ReportingServices.RsProxy.AccessDeniedException' was
thrown.

Okay, ACL... I checked the Site Settings:
Configure site-wide security
Configure item-level role definitions
Configure system-level role definitions
As well I checked the Home Security Properties... Everything is
propagating to the Subfolders nicely... Tried Creating a new directory
and putting stuff in there... Still no go... Tried building a new
project... No Luck... I have Local Admin. My client granted me
temporary Domain Admin as he wanted me to have all I needed in case
the SP2 didn't work. Checking the RS Config - everything if peachy... Yet
I STILL can’t deploy to the server
HELP!
Where can I get more info on the exception that was thrown... Is there
a facility within VS? Perhaps I should cross post? I have VS Team
Suite Trial Installed. I even attempted deploying right on the server
to see that I wasn't running into some weird security issue.
I am now trying to deploy a generic model from the Data Source within Report
Manager, I get this message:
“You do not have sufficient permission to create this item in this folder.”
- I don’t get it!

I know this challenge falls into a number of Microsoft technology areas and
perhaps could be posted in numerous newsgroups. I could post to Reporting
Services, Security, Install & Setup, and even perhaps Visual Studio.

Please point me in the right direction...

Cheers,
Scott
