Hello NG.
Perhaps someone can be so friendly and help me with the following
problem :
I'm running SQL Express 2005 on a public Win2003Server and want to use
SSL encryption for the data transfer between the clients and the
server.
Therefore I run selfssl on the server to create a certificate and than
I configure the network connections in the SQL management studio tu
use the ssl encryption.
But I couldn't restart the SQL service because the cn-name of the
certificate is wrong !?
The server has no DNS entry and is reached just by his ip adress and
is no domain member.
So what is the correct cn-name in this case ?
The ip ???
The computer name ???
Please be so friendly and show me the right way to solve this problem.
