Re: Deny Builtin Administrators

Another administrator meaning a user who can log in who has admin privileges
in the database. You eliminated all Windows admins already unless you have
specifically granted permissions to a particular user before you denied
Windows admins and forgot the sa password.

THanks for the prompt reply.

You're pretty well out of luck if you don't know the SA password and
don't
have another administrator. The only thing I can think of is to install
again from scratch and then attach the databases - and write down the SA
password this time.

I have denied the Builtin Administrators group with SQL Server, now I
don't
have access to recover. Everything seems to run okay, but I don't have
permission to do anything anymore. I don't know the password to the sa
account. This is on an Active Directory domain.

Now I can't start backup exec, b\c of dependencies.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
