This problem just started out of the blue -- when I connect to my local SQL
server with Enterprise Manager, the SQL Agent shows that the server stops --
I can restart it and connect, but my event log shows that there was a fatal
    security exception.

This repeats itself every time I connect, but if I restart I can connect. It
    is very annoying.

I've checked all the places I can think of to set permissions. I'm running
as Administrator. I've tried using the sa account, I checked permissions on
the disk and at the database level, turned off the SP2 firewall. So far no
    luck.

Can anyone suggest other places I might look to set permissions? What
account should the MSSQL service really run under? Local System?

I know this works fine under XP SP2. This weirdness just started concurrent
with setting up some Visual Studio 2003 features.

    Thanks!
