Hi All,
Has anyone else run across this? When installing the Sql Server
Developer Edition, I get a notice from Norton Personal Firewall that
it's blocking a blank-password exploit coming from the install.
I suppose I could just assume that this sort of behavior is correct.but
I'd like to make sure before disabling the firewall. This is a brand
new machine, behind the corporate firewall, so I'm inclined to believe
that it's not already infected.
Has anyone else seen this? If so, what is the install doing sending out
blank password connection strings? To whom? Is it safe to have my
firewall allow this behavior?
What are your thoughts?
-Dave
