SSL Tests

I have SQL Server and the client running on the same non-domain machine and
would like to test encrypted connections.

I created a self-signed certificate for the machine and installed it in the
personal store and the trusted root store. Now when I start the server, I
cannot connect from query analyzer. I've tried with server encryption on and
off, and client encryption on and off. If I remove the certificate, I
connect fine.

HELP!
